Frommer's Review
One of the most spectacular Belle Epoque hotels in Spain, enviably positioned in the heart of town midway between the bay and Río Urumea, this is the town's top choice. The Cristina opened in 1912 behind a facade of chiseled stone and ornate ironwork. The crowd is likely to include movie stars and film directors; this is where the glitterati stay during San Sebastián's film festival. The hotel was richly remodeled in 1987. The public rooms are opulent with ormolu, mahogany, onyx, exotic marbles, and rosewood marquetry. The spacious guest rooms are appropriately lavish, with luxury beds and bathrooms with tub/shower combos.
