Chef Josh Baum was so successful at his smaller restaurant Josh's BBQ on Zafarano Drive that he had to move and expand in 2011. The result is the classy-yet-casual Ranch House, with a spacious, well-lit dining area with high windows. This is probably the best barbecue in the city. The menu focuses on slow-smoked dishes made with hormone- and antibiotic-free beef from New Mexico ranchers, along with great green chile brisket burritos and pulled pork to boot. The red chile honey sauce on the baby back ribs is the perfect blend of Texas and New Mexico flavors. The portions are generous and almost everything comes with a side of zingy green chile cornbread.
