Located within the Eldorado Hotel, this restaurant consistently rates as Santa Fe's best eatery in local publications' polls. In a Southwestern atmosphere, rich with excellent Native American art, the Old House serves quality meats, poultry, and seafood in refined sauces. The menu changes seasonally, with some signature dishes that remain year-round. A must here, as either an appetizer or entree, is the pan-seared Dungeness crab cakes with an organic watercress salad. For entrees, you might try the hand-harvested sea scallops with creamed corn or the wood-roasted tenderloin of beef with ancho chile grits and buttermilk onion rings. The marscarpone cheesecake here is excellent, but my favorite dessert is the warm Tanzanian chocolate cake. The wine list is a Wine Spectator award-winner.
