AdobeStar Inn Review

This inn, formerly the Spencer House B&B, is near the O'Keeffe Museum, and offers a cozy, homelike feel with a bit of Southwest elegance. New ownership has brought refinement to the small- to medium-size rooms here, each with a different Southwestern theme. The O'Keeffe room has bold primary colors along with O'Keeffe prints on the walls, while the Chimayo room -- my favorite -- is set in a quiet spot in back of the house and has wood floors, a kiva fireplace and warm earth tones. Also in back, an 800-square-foot casita has been split into two separate rooms, each with a full bath and whirlpool tub, one with a full kitchen, fireplace, and private patio. It's a great space but could use an update. All bathrooms are modern and very clean. In summer, a full breakfast -- delights such as a chile relleno casserole or blueberry bread pudding -- is served on the outdoor patio. In winter, guests dine in an atrium. Some rooms have coffeemakers, TVs, and telephones.

Facilities:
Concierge; laundry service

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
