Frommer's Review
This dignified hotel, open since 1934 and one of Sapporo's old-timers, has a good downtown location near the Botanic Garden and Odori Park. An appealing choice of dining and drinking outlets (including Fine French food at Grand Chef) and a helpful English-speaking staff help make your stay enjoyable. The hotel occupies three buildings constructed at various times: Company executives generally stay in the main building, groups and families usually opt for less expensive rooms in the east building, and business travelers take advantage of the mostly singles in the annex. Most rooms are fairly large and nicely furnished but -- a sign of the hotel's age -- have small windows and small bathrooms. Note, too, that some of the cheapest rooms face another building.
