Arriving -- If you’re driving, head along A6 from Paris or Lyon, then take exit 22 (Avallon) to the D606 then the D906. The train station is northeast of the town center. Passengers from Paris sometimes take the TER from Paris Bercy or the TGV from Gare de Lyon, getting off in Montbard, 48km (30 miles) to the north. There are about eleven trains a day to Montbard and the journey takes roughly an hours. From Montbard, a series of buses timed to the arrival of the trains carry passengers on to Saulieu for a one-way fare of 1.50€.
