One of Savannah’s great culinary experiences, adjacent to the Planters Inn, this local institution remains extremely popular. It knocks out all the Lowcountry favorites, albeit with a touch of gourmet flair. Local grouper is stuffed with crab, then smothered in white-wine lemon sauce, mashed potatoes, and mixed beans, while the mouth-watering bourbon-molasses grilled pork tenderloin is served with sweet potato, pecan vanilla butter, and collards. For appetizers it’s hard to top the lump crab hush puppies with spicy peach remoulade. The property itself dates way back to 1771, and is indeed covered in a layer of pink stucco.
