Frommer's Review
Maintained in a style that's in keeping with its "Grand Hotel" origins in 1844, this hotel overlooks South Bay and Scarborough Castle from its setting above a cliff top, just above the quieter side of the town's beachfront. In recent years, extensive renovations have brought everything up-to-date. The accommodations are comfortable, with many rooms offering pleasant views over the sea. Most of the rooms, ranging from midsize to spacious, have been rejuvenated and include roomy bathrooms, often with tubs and showers. Nine bedrooms are rented to nonsmokers, and seven are large enough for families.
