Alexis Hotel Review

This century-old building is a sparkling gem in an enviable location: halfway between Pike Place Market and Pioneer Square, and 3 blocks from the waterfront and the Seattle Art Museum. The Alexis is dedicated to the arts, and throughout the hotel, both in guest rooms and in public spaces, there are original works of art. The cheerful, personalized service and the pleasant mix of contemporary and antique furnishings give the Alexis a special atmosphere. About a quarter of the rooms are suites, and the spa suites are real winners, offering whirlpool tubs in luxurious bathrooms. The hotel also has complimentary evening wine tastings. As part of the Kimpton chain, the Alexis participates in the eco-friendly EarthCare program and does what it can to be green. Visit their website for details.

Facilities:
Restaurant, lounge; concierge; executive-level rooms; exercise room and access to nearby health club; room service; Aveda day spa

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
