If you crave Philippe Starck-inspired furnishings but have an IKEA budget, this is the place for you. Before you even step through the door of your room, you'll know this place is different; every guest room door is covered with a black-and-white photo mural. In fact, art is the main design theme here, and throughout the hotel there are works by dozens of regional artists. Flat-screen LCD TVs, stainless-steel sinks, and bold color schemes all make it clear that this place is designed to appeal to younger travelers. Rooms here can be tiny to the point of inducing claustrophobia, so the Max is best for solo travelers.
