This is a good value, comfortable, and perfectly located hotel, but that's not what makes it one of my favorites. What really sets the place apart from the rest of the hotels in this price category is the service. It’s excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for Paco and his friendly team—they're so helpful (and this in a city where "service" is sometimes a word that feels like it got lost in translation). Be sure to ask for recommendations—they know Seville inside out and can offer great suggestions for dining and sightseeing. The rooms themselves are modern, well-appointed, and bright, with dark wood floors and cream furnishings and attractive mosaic-tiled bathrooms. Some rooms are a little on the small side, but they're all spotlessly clean. Solo travelers will appreciate the single rooms on offer here, too. Two superior rooms on the top floor offer attractive views of the cathedra's ornate belltower from their leafy terraces. It's these views that give the hotel its name, Alminar, which means "minaret." That belltower was formerly the minaret of a great mosque that onc occupied the site.
