Climate

The Seychelles' climate stays consistently between 72°F (24°C) and 89°F (32°C), with an average of 84°F (29°C). May to September are the driest, coolest months, while the wetter, more humid period, when the northwest monsoon blows in, extends from November to March. During the wet season average monthly rainfall is 14 inches (355mm), while in the summer it falls to just 3 inches (75mm) a month. The Seychelles is rarely affected by tropical cyclones.

Calendar of Events

Sleek catamarans from all over the world can be seen speeding around the archipelago during the annual Seychelles Regatta (tel. 00/248-671-300; www.theseychellesregatta.com/) in May. International runners can be seen competing in the Seychelles Marathon in February (www.seychellesmarathon.com/), which starts and finishes in Beau Vallon Bay in Mahé.
