This Accor-managed four-star tower in the heart of the pedestrian sector of Nanjing Lu has a superb downtown location. Opened in 1993, the hotel has been undergoing an extensive renovation. When complete in 2007, guests will find some new restaurants as well as elegantly refurbished, comfortable rooms with all the modern amenities associated with this luxury brand. Sofitel Club rooms are slightly larger and include a Western buffet breakfast. Entrance from Nanjing Lu is via stairs and an elevator to the second-floor lobby. There's a European, even French feel to the hotel. Service is efficient, if brusque at times.
