Business travelers love this five-star Sheraton, not just for the location (halfway between the old Hongqiao Airport and downtown), but for the highly efficient service and the lush yet homey atmosphere. Rooms, renovated in 2002, are a tad on the small side but are lushly decorated with rich carpeting, overstuffed chairs, and a classical rollout desk top right under Chinese artwork. Bathrooms are sleek and modern with glass sinks. The hotel can arrange tee times and transportation to the Shanghai International Golf and Country Club. Its deli, Bauernstube, is the best.
