Sheraton Shanghai Hongqiao Hotel (Hongqiao Xilaideng Shanghai Taipingyang Da Fandian) [S] -- Business travelers love this 27-story, five-star Sheraton, not just for the location (halfway btw. the old Hongqiao Airport and downtown), but for the highly efficient service and the lush yet homey atmosphere. Rooms are a tad on the small side, but are lushly decorated with rich carpeting, overstuffed chairs, and a classical rollout desktop right under Chinese artwork. Bathrooms are sleek and modern with glass sinks. The hotel can arrange tee times and transportation to the Shanghai International Golf and Country Club. Its deli, Bauernstube, is the best.
