Pudong's first international five-star hotel (1996), this property was taken over by Inter-Continental in 2002 and given an extensive remodeling. The large, elegant rooms encircle a handsome 21-story atrium lobby, now a wireless hot spot. Guest rooms, furnished in a contemporary classic style, are spacious and comfortable and contain separate showers and tubs. Guests can book tee-times at the members-only 18-hole Tomson Golf Course 15 minutes away, and Club Floor guests are treated to a free 15-minute neck-and-shoulder massage in addition to the usual perks. Service is professional and discounts (up to 50%) highly attractive.
