Frommer's Review
Opened in 2003, China's first JW Marriott is a handsome five-star hotel lodged primarily on the 38th to 60th floors of Tomorrow Square, a fascinating futuristic tower that can look top- or bottom-heavy depending on the angle of approach. It's ideally located a short walk from both subway lines and attractions such as the Shanghai Museum, Grand Theatre, Nanjing Lu Pedestrian Mall, and Xintiandi. Boasting a penthouse library billed as the tallest library in the world by the Guinness Book of Records, as well as China's first Mandara Spa, this tallest hotel in Puxi offers luxurious rooms furnished with three telephones, CD player, laptop safe, thick bathrobes, and brilliant city views. Marble bathrooms have separate showers with power massage jets, and anti-fog mirrors. Service is attentive and efficient.
Facilities: 3 restaurants; 2 lounges; indoor/outdoor pool; health club with Jacuzzi and sauna; Mandara spa; concierge; business center; salon; 24-hr. room service; babysitting; same-day laundry service/dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms; executive-level rooms.
