This maritime-themed hostel, lodged in a 1920s Art Deco-style building, is one of the most popular budget options in town. Among its recommendations, a superb location just off the Bund, clean "sailor bunk" dorms, comfortable if no-frills doubles with ensuite bathrooms, and a rooftop bar offering views of the Huangpu River and Pudong to rival those at the considerably more expensive bars and restaurants on the Bund, but with cold beer at half the price. All the usual hostel facilities, like bike rental and a small Internet cafe, are also available.
