This single-room bar has long been a favorite with expats as when it arrived on the bar scene it offered one of the most extensive selections of cocktails you could find. Competitors have sprung up since then — especially in the 5-star luxury hotels who offer not only the highly-trained mixologists but a Bund view to boot — but Shanghai locals and expats alike will still enjoy Constellation's cozy space, casual atmosphere, and knowledgeable bartenders serving up behind the long counter. Specialties include single-malt scotches, and the popularity of this understated bar has led the owner to open up new branches (currently at 4 and counting). The Xinle Lu location is the original, and all are reliable places to grab a drink after dinner with friends.
