Opening in 2010 to great fanfare, The Apartment is still managing to appear at the top of most Shanghai barhoppers' and clubgoers' lists for its happy hour specials, fully stocked bar, restaurant and lounge, and late night DJs. Thursdays are ladies' night,  when the bar offers Kahlua cocktails and free flow sparkling wine to anyone of the qualifying gender. The place expands over two floors and several rooms, but the main joint is on the third floor and features bar tables and large, comfy couches. The Apartment also serves food—which is good but nothing remarkable—but the drinks and food service make it a great place to hold special occasions. Large parties such as birthdays, anniversaries, work functions, or fundraisers will easily find a place within The Apartment's maze of space options, which include a small room that seats about 20 for dinner, and an outdoor terrace. Expats and locals alike flock here during the evenings.
