Shelter Island's best restaurant is in the flowery and formal dining room of the Ram's Head Inn. The seafood plates offer a delectable blend of flavors: Dig into the sautéed sweet pepper crab cake or the grilled Moroccan-spiced swordfish. Meat dishes also won't disappoint, with options like the pot au feu, and the roasted pork tenderloin with caramel-citrus sauce. Topping it off with excellent service, a well-chosen wine list, and an inviting bar area for a drink before or after dinner, it's worth the short trip to this remote part of the island.
