Following 2006 renovations, Shigatse's first hotel remains a contender for the best place in town and offers friendly staff, good facilities, and a decent choice of rooms. Standard rooms are bright and clean, but the Tibetan rooms have the same facilities, cost the same and are decorated with thangkas, Tibetan furniture, and attractive photographs, which makes them preferable.
