Under massive cross-vaulted ceilings of rough old brick, Al Marsili's soft-yellow plaster walls are pocketed with a few very private alcoves. This is the most elegant place in town, complete with bow-tied waiters and a very well chosen, if pricey, wine list. Standout primi are pici alla casareccia (fat spaghetti in meat-and-mushroom sauce) and conchiglie alla rustica (shell pasta in a strong spinach-and-sausage sauce). For your second course, try scaloppine al dragoncello (veal scallops with tomatoes and tarragon), or their best dish, faraona alla Medici (meaty guinea hen cooked with pine nuts, almonds, and prunes).
