This 200-year-old brick farmhouse owned by the Franconi brothers sits on a ridge northwest of the city and has good views down the valley over their olive grove and up to Siena beyond. You get the vista from all but two rooms, and several even enjoy a small terrace. The accommodations are all good-size and comfortable, with tile floors and those soft cradling Italian beds of dubious spring power. It's a friendly, homey, and very quiet place to escape from the city a bit without going too far -- a city bus stop is right outside the gates (or take a taxi into town for about 10€/$13). There's also a good bar up the road if you want a cheaper breakfast.
