Introduction to Silvaplana
6km (4 miles) SW of St. Moritz Situated on Lake Silvaplana, in sight of Lake Champfèr, within a 10-minute drive of St. Moritz, the little village of Silvaplana (1,770m/5,806 ft.) is at the foot of Piz Corvatsch (3,401m/11,155 ft.), at the beginning of the Julier Pass. Built around a late Gothic parish church, whose stone walls were completed in 1491, the hamlet of Silvaplana is one of the most unspoiled resort towns in the Engadine.
