Getting There
Silvaplana is not serviced by any railroad. Local residents usually take the bus or drive to the railway station at St. Moritz for most of their transportation needs.
A flotilla of blue-sided Engadine buses makes runs every 15 minutes in winter, and every 30 minutes in summer, from the St. Moritz railroad station to the center of Silvaplana at a cost of 3.20F ($2.60/£1.35) each way. The yellow-sided Palm Express bus also travels through Silvaplana as part of its twice-per-day route from Lugano to St. Moritz. One-way transit from Lugano to St. Moritz costs 67F ($55/£29). If you're driving from St. Moritz, head southwest along Route 27 for 10 minutes.

The Silvaplana Tourist Office (tel. 081/838-60-00; www.silvaplana.ch) is open year-round Monday to Friday from 8:30am to noon and 1:30 to 6:30pm, and Saturday from 9am to noon and 4 to 6pm.
