Planning a TripGetting There Silvaplana is not serviced by any railroad. Local residents usually take the bus or drive to the railway station at St. Moritz for most of their transportation needs. A flotilla of blue-sided Engadine buses makes runs every 15 minutes in winter, and every 30 minutes in summer, from the St. Moritz railroad station to the center of Silvaplana at a cost of 4F each way. The yellow-sided Palm Express bus also travels through Silvaplana as part of its twice-per-day route from Lugano to St. Moritz. One-way transit from Lugano to St. Moritz costs 71F. If you're driving from St. Moritz, head southwest along Route 27 for 10 minutes. Visitor Information The Silvaplana Tourist Office (tel. 081/838-60-00; www.silvaplana.ch) is open year-round Monday to Friday from 8:30am to noon and 1:30 to 6:30pm, and Saturday from 9am to noon and 4 to 6pm.
