This appealing hole-in-the-wall in chaotic Little India is run by a friendly Singaporean-Indian couple who make you feel like you’re hanging out in their home (which happens to be a cool old shophouse), along with the other patrons, a great mix of locals and travelers from the nearby budget hotels. The menu has more than 100 dishes, from Indian (S$8.90 SGD buys you the butter chicken) and Chinese to Thai. Western favorites like burgers and fish and chips for S$9.90. Prices are very reasonable—not an easy feat in pricey Singapore. The beer menu is long and the tall stools and tables near the sidewalk are prime spots for people watching.
