Frommer's Review
In São Pedro, a verdant suburb of Sintra, this 1850s stone house was commissioned by its former occupant, Viscount Tojal. Shortly after World War II, the German-born parents of the present owner, Susana Rosner Fragoso, bought the house and transformed it into a dignified pensão (boardinghouse). Surrounded by a spacious garden with venerable trees, the pastel-colored midsize rooms contain simple but comfortable furniture. All units contain well-maintained bathrooms equipped with tub/shower combinations.
