Getting There

Sion lies on the major rail lines that connect Milan and Turin (via the Simplon Tunnel) with Geneva and Paris. Trains arrive from both directions every day. Call tel. 0900/300-300 for rail schedules. If you're driving, head east from Martigny, and from Visp go west, on E2.

Visitor Information

The Sion Tourist Information Office is on place de la Planta (tel. 027/327-77-27; www.siontourism.ch). It's open mid-July to mid-August Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6pm, Saturday 10am to 4pm, Sunday 9am to noon; off season, hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to noon and 2 to 5:30pm, Saturday 9am to noon.
