Everybody around here recommends the CD Cafe. People crowd into the bright, cozy spot for a rich assortment of dishes such as savory cheesecake (a walnut crust filled with herbed cheeses); Cajun shepherd's pie; and breast of chicken topped with pecans, apples, and an apple-schnapps glaze. Lunchtime salads are creative and tasty -- try the curried chicken. Behind the cafe is the Next Door Lounge, a laid-back place for light fare and drinks (Tues-Sat 4:30-11pm; Sun brunch 9:30am-2:30pm).
