Kenwood Inn & Spa Review

Inspired by the villas of Tuscany, the Kenwood Inn's honey-colored Italian-style buildings, flower-filled flagstone courtyard, and pastoral views of vineyard-covered hills provide one of the region's most romantic backdrops. Add spacious rooms lavishly and exquisitely decorated with imported tapestries, velvets, and antiques, plus a fireplace, balcony (except on the ground floor), private bathroom (many with spa tubs), feather bed, CD player, and down comforter, and you've got amore in the making. With no TVs, relaxation is inevitable -- especially if you book treatments at their Caudalie Vinotherapie Spa. A minor caveat is road noise, which you're unlikely to hear from your room but can be slightly audible over the tranquil pumped-in music around the courtyard and decent-size pool.

An impressive three-course gourmet breakfast is served in the courtyard or in the Mediterranean-style dining room. A note for traveling families: Kenwood Inn doesn't welcome kids 17 and under.

Facilities:
Concierge; 2 outdoor hot tubs; heated outdoor pool; indoor soaking tub; full-service spa

About Our System

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.

Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.

The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
