Getting AroundBy Plane -- Delta and US Airways both have flights within South Carolina, although connections are sometimes awkward. By Car -- South Carolina has a network of exceptionally good roads. Even when you leave the major highways for the state-maintained roadways, driving is easy on well-maintained roads. AAA services are available through the Carolina Motor Club in Charleston (tel. 843/744-1043) and Greenville (tel. 864/421-9510). In South Carolina, vehicles must use headlights when windshield wipers are in use as a result of inclement weather. Remember that drivers and front-seat passengers must wear seat belts.
