Frommer's Review
Popular with backpackers and others, this is the best bargain along the coast, although it's not for everyone. Four buildings that make up this compound lie at the edge of a long beach of good sands. A garden separates the property from the beach. The bedrooms are very spartan but well kept, each cooled by an overhead fan. All units contain twin beds and a small bathroom where the water is never hot but kind of tepid. Management provides bed linens and towels. Guests cut down on meal costs by purchasing supplies at one of the local markets and cooking their own meals. The outdoor bar is a popular gathering place at night, attracting an international crowd of visitors who hail from locations that range from Germany to Manitoba. The most luxurious and private way to stay here is to rent the one-bedroom cottage. Sometimes guests wait until the fishing boats come in, to unload their rainbow-hued catch of the day. Then they purchase their dinner on the spot, with a guarantee that it's very fresh.

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
