Set on 35 very secluded acres on the banks of the Chetco River, this contemporary B&B caters to nature lovers and anglers and makes a great weekend retreat. However, in order to get away, you'll first have to find the lodge, which is 17 miles from town up North Bank Road (the last bit on gravel). The lodge makes use of alternative energy, yet is luxurious and filled with antiques. The Siskiyou National Forest surrounds the property, and hiking, swimming (there are lots of great swimming holes), and stargazing are popular pastimes. If you don't feel like leaving the woods, you can arrange to have meals at the lodge.
