Frommer's Review
This two-story restaurant with great views of the bay offers the best, most creative cooking in South Padre Island. Chef/owner Julio DeLuna made a name for himself in Scottsdale, Arizona, before coming here to open his own place. Quality ingredients and freshness are points of pride with him. What doesn't come out of the Gulf is flown in on ice, such as Hawaiian walu and diver scallops. There are two menus. The downstairs menu is less expensive. From it I ordered the crab-encrusted mahimahi filet served with a lobster and brandy sauce. Friends ordered the filet mignon and the lobster salad. It was all excellently prepared, and I was left with the nagging feeling that I couldn't be in South Padre Island.
