Planning a TripGetting There By Train -- Irish Rail runs several trains a day into Clonmel from Limerick and Waterford. It serves Clonmel Station, Thomas Street, Clonmel, Tipperary (tel. 052/21982; www.irishrail.ie). The station is a 10-minute walk from the town center. By Bus -- There are more buses than trains to Clonmel, and Bus Éireann operates daily bus service to Limerick, Wexford and Rosslare, into Clonmel Train Station, Thomas Street, Clonmell (tel. 052/21982; www.buseireann.ie). By Car -- If you're driving from Dublin and points north, take the N7 or N76; if you're coming from the west, take the N24. Visitor Information The Clonmel Tourist Office is at 6 Sarsfield St., Clonmel (tel. 052/22960). It's open year-round Monday to Saturday 9:30am to 5:30pm. Seasonal offices are at Castle Street, Cahir (tel. 052/41453), open June to August, Monday to Saturday 9:30am to 6pm, and at the Town Hall, Cashel (tel. 062/61333), open daily 9:30am to 5:30pm from March to October and Monday to Friday from November to February. To get the latest on news, listings, and events in Clonmel and the surrounding area, buy a copy of the local Nationalist, which hits the stands every Saturday. Among other things, it will tell you what's on at the Regal Theatre or the White Memorial Theatre, Clonmel's principal venues for the arts.
