Café Marron Browne's Addition ReviewWith its tree-shaded streets lined with grand old mansions, the Browne's Addition neighborhood just west of downtown is my favorite part of Spokane and it's also home to this wonderful little neighborhood restaurant. "Marron" means brown in French, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that this Browne's Addition restaurant is painted shades of brown and beige. The menu, however, is anything but beige. With influences pulled from around the world, there are plenty of bold flavors here to wake up your taste buds. Be sure to start your meal with the aracine, which are little fried risotto balls stuffed with gouda, parmesan, and Italian sausage. Not up for a big dinner? Just have a bleu-cheese burger. On warm summer days, the front wall of the restaurant rolls up for alfresco dining. Note: This information was accurate when it was published, but can change without notice. Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
