Although strip-mall doesn't exactly scream fresh seafood, the aptly named Florida’s Fresh Grill is one of Cocoa Beach’s off-the-beaten path best bets for exactly that. A warm and welcoming interior of copper-plated ceilings, woods, and candles transports you from the saltier spots in town to a casual, yet swankier scene. A menu heavy on sea-to-table fish includes standouts such as buttermilk-dipped pecan-crusted Stealhead trout and a Longfin tilapia topped with lump crab and sautéed in lemon caper butter. Not in the mood for sea fare? Try their cheesy, yet appropriately named Craveable Classic Burger—a hearty, well-seasoned half pound of fresh-ground brisket on a warm knotted brioche bun. Service here is exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable and bartenders take pride in their mixology. There’s even a side menu that puts a gourmet twist on the gluten-free diet with dishes such as grilled fresh fish with mango salsa or scallops with jalapeño-bacon cream sauce.
