Location is a prime reason to choose the Alamanda, which lies about a two-minute walk from the flaxen sands of Baie Orientale (Orient Bay). Comfortable if dated lodgings are set in colorful two-story Creole-style buildings clustered around a landscaped pool. Rooms are spacious, however, each with its own terrace or patio and decorated in colonial teak or rattan furniture. Beach Level rooms overlook the pool, while Ocean View rooms have panoramic views of the Orient Bay beach. With two bedrooms and an ocean-facing terrace, the resort duplexes are good for families (4–5 people) or two couples traveling together. The Orient Bay Kakao Beach restaurant offers Alamanda guests complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. The resort is closed during September.
