Beaches

Along the coast, long stretches of sand intersperse with rocky outcroppings that suggest fortresses protecting Brittany from Atlantic storms. You can swim wherever you like, but beware of the very strong undertow. If you're staying in St-Malo, the two best beaches are Plage de Bon Secours, near the northern tip of the Vieille Ville (old town), and La Grande Plage du Sillon, a longer stretch of sand at the eastern perimeter of the Vieille Ville.
