Arriving -- A regional bus, the Cartreize, runs four to nine times daily between Avignon’s Gare Routière and St-Rémy’s place de la République (trip time: 45 min.; 3.60€ one-way). Drivers can head south from Avignon along D571.

Getting Around

On Foot -- St-Rémy’s town center is compact. Much of it is pedestrianized, making it very easy to navigate on foot.

By Bicycle -- If you’re interested in exploring the surrounding countryside, or simply having your own wheels, Sun-e-Bike, 16 boulevard Marceau (www.location-velo-provence.com; tel. 04-32-62-08-39), rents electric bicycles. With a full battery, each bike can scoot around 35km (21 miles) before it needs recharging. Prices start at 35€ per day, with discounts available for longer rentals.
