Frommer's Review
Built on 2 hectares (5 acres) of sloping land close to the beach (a 5-min. walk on a path carved into the cliff side), La Toubana is centered around a low-lying stone building on a rocky cliff overlooking the bay and Ste-Anne Beach. Many guests come for the panoramic view, which on a clear day encompasses Marie-Galante, Dominica, La Désirade, and the Iles des Saintes, but you'll quickly learn that there's more to this place than just a panorama. The red-roofed bungalows lie scattered among the tropical shrubs along the adjacent hillsides (toubana means "small house" in Arawak); there are 10 garden units and 12 more upscale oceanview units. Each has a kitchenette, comfortable French furnishings, a terrace, a rather compact bathroom, and either two twin beds or one king-size bed. Cots for kids are available on request.
