Frommer's Review
One of only two Relais & Châteaux properties in Colorado -- the other is the Little Nell in Aspen -- the Home Ranch effortlessly balances that French pedigree of culinary excellence with down-home Western hospitality. People come here for the horseback riding, and the 90-horse-strong stable's revered custom program that allows guests to break free of the usual nose-to-tail rides and explore. In winter, riding gives way to cross-country skiing on-site, and the staff also provides transportation to the downhill slopes at Steamboat. The cabins and lodge rooms are beautifully done, with slick tiled bathrooms, wood-burning stoves, and a nice blend of rustic and comfortable that's perfect for the isolated locale. With 1,500 of aspen groves and idyllic woodland crisscrossed with trails, the setting is what ultimately defines Home Ranch, and it's one of the most sublime settings in the Rockies.
