Frommer's Review
This small resort is the best address on Statia, surpassing The Old Gin House. Set on the Caribbean side of the island, less than 1km (1/2 mile) north of Oranjestad, this secluded choice occupies about .3 hectare (3/4 acre) on an oceanfront cliff, 20m (60 ft.) above the surf. If you're looking for a laid-back, escapist vacation, this is your place. (Your nearest neighbors are in the local cemetery.) Most views look to the southwest, ensuring colorful sunsets that tend to be enhanced by drinks served from the bar at the King's Well Restaurant. Just below the hotel is a breeding bay for fish and octopus. The owner has several friendly pet dogs on the property.
There are no room keys, so don't expect much security. The accommodations are small and rather sparsely furnished, and each is unique. Room no. 4 contains a waterbed. The rooms in the rear are larger and face the sea, and those in front open onto a shared sea-view balcony. Bathrooms are small, with showers only. This resort might not be suitable for very young children, as there is no guard around the pool. The inn has a catamaran and will ferry guests on day trips to St. Kitts or Saba.
Facilities:
Restaurant; outdoor pool; Jacuzzi; boating; fishing; laundry service
