Frommer's Review
An in-the-know crowd of locals and visitors flocks to this delightful Italian restaurant with an open-air terrace. If you don't want to hear street noise, head inside. First-rate ingredients, style, and flavorful dishes make for a winning combination. Our party recently ordered an array of appetizers, sampling such delights as an eggplant tower (layers of eggplant, fontina, and mozzarella topped with marinara), black mussels in white wine, garlic, and plum tomatoes, and lump crab cakes with a roasted pepper aioli. The pastas are the island's best, especially the lobster ravioli with wild mushrooms and toasted pine nuts or the basil-infused linguine with swordfish stuffed with lump crab. Tuck into such fish dishes as a pistachio-encrusted mahimahi or pan-seared black grouper with a sauce flavored with orange and fresh basil. Their veal shank (osso buco) is slowly simmered in red wine, tomato, and veal stock and is a welcome departure from all the Caribbean spices and flavors.
