Frommer's Review
This is the island's finest place to stay, outdoing even the more mellow and time-seasoned Golden Lemon. Ten kilometers (6 1/4 miles) north of the airport, and near a rainforest, it occupies a 14-hectare (35-acre) site on a former 17th-century West Indian plantation. Those seeking charm and tranquility will like the nine rooms in an 1832 great house. Other units are divided among three cottages, with air-conditioning and overhead fans. Each has modern amenities, including private pools and panoramic views. The suites are truly deluxe, with their own Jacuzzis. Rooms are elegantly appointed and very spacious with queen- or king-size beds; the bathrooms have tub/shower combinations and deluxe toiletries. Guests enjoy body polishing or body wraps at the trendy Mango Orchard Spa set in a replica of a traditional wood-framed Antillean cottage called a chattel house.
The plantation operates one of the best restaurants on the island, The Royal Palm, which serves a Sunday champagne brunch.
