St. Louis's history is presented through photographs, memorabilia, first-person narratives, portraits, and more, with displays featuring the city's role in westward expansion, the Dred Scott case (which upheld slavery), famous St. Louisans such as Chuck Berry and Tennessee Williams, the 1904 World's Fair held at Forest Park, a replica of Charles Lindbergh's Spirit of St. Louis plane and other items relating to his life and solo transatlantic flight, and exhibits of the city's past. Allow 1 hour for the permanent exhibits, more for special exhibits.
