Frommer's Review
With a studio in back, Atelier des Tropismes is run by three artists. Patrick Poivre de la Fréta studied in Paris with Salvador Dalí and creates playful, witty still life paintings, genre scenes in feverish Fauvist hues, and objets like screens. Paul Elliott Thuleau faithfully reproduces architectural facades in super-realist fashion with luminous hues. Nathalie Lepine's portraits of women, some sturdy like Léger or de Lempincka, others attenuated like Modigliani or Giacometti, are contemplative. Other local artists are represented here.
