Nobu ReviewThis addition to the St. Moritz culinary scene is another outlet of a restaurant that gained fame in Manhattan, where it's still known for incorporating new ingredients into old dishes or retooling traditional recipes. Internationally renowned chef Nobuyuki "Nobu" Matsuhisa has crossed the Atlantic and opened what quickly became the trendiest, and most difficult, reservation in town. So what does one of the world's greatest sushi chefs have in store for you? Excellent starters include New Zealand mussels with your choice of Matsuhisa sauces, Toro tartar, tuna takati with Panzu, and squid "pasta" in a garlic sauce. For a main dish we recommend the filet of salmon with teriyaki or Anti-Cucho sauce. Those who can't decide what they want should try the tempura, sashimi, or sushi dinners, which offer a variety of the type of fare they've chosen. Other than the dinners, sushi and tempura are served by the piece, so diners can try each variety on the menu or stick to their favorites. Reservations can be backed up for months at a time in peak season and for weeks in low season, so call far in advance. | 2 stars | Frommer's Very Highly Recommended | |
| 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
