Journalists and other political dignitaries frequent this traditional Alsatian winstub, which has operated here since 1873. It's located near the cathedral in the middle of the historic core. The backdrop is in the traditional bistro style, with lots of wood and red-checked curtains. Steaming platters of well-prepared food emerge from the kitchen, including such appetizers as snails Alsatian or foie gras of the house. For a main course, opt for such temptations as hen cooked in Riesling and served with spaëtzle or choucroute (sauerkraut) with pork products. Suckling pig is another one of the specialties.
