The renovated mansion exudes old-fashioned charm -- the sculptured walls date to 1745 -- yet is completely modern (with soundproofing). Many of the guest rooms, with flowery draperies and upholstered furniture, have wooden beams. The most romantic accommodations, evoking old France, are on the fifth floor under timbers.
